On June 4th 2021, they released their long awaited original album, Dragonfly.
When the sisters first set out to create this album, they agreed that they wanted to make it into the kind of album they originally fell in love with when they first started listening to Celtic music. Even though the album was written, recorded and produced during a pandemic, it is full of hope.
The 12 new songs touch on themes of reconnecting with inner strength, courage and resilience. From searching for wisdom in Wise One, the joy of adventure in Dragonfly, to the power of music and community in Shadow and Sun and Long Road. There’s the story of a long-lost gold mine in Meet Me at Dawn, as well as energetic new instrumental tunes Hurricane Ridge, Wildflower Jigs and Chasing the Sun.
This album is the most authentic Gothard Sisters record to date, and combines layers of fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar, djembe, bodhran, whistles, and vocal harmonies with modern recording techniques and production.
Visit www.gothardsisters.com to find out more, and get your copy of Dragonfly today.

The Chieftains and Friends
Irish Goodbye
Sun Oct 20 at 2PM

Join us in celebrating 57 years of The Chieftains, as they come to Roy Thomson Hall as part of their final, and aptly named, Irish Goodbye Tour.

Since 1962 The Chieftains have been six-time Grammy Award winners and been highly recognized for reinventing traditional Irish music on a contemporary and International scale. Their ability to transcend musical boundaries to blend tradition with modern music has notably hailed them as one of the most renowned and revered musical groups to this day.

Although their early following was purely a folk audience, the range and variation of their music and accompanying musicians quickly captured a much broader audience, elevating their status to the likeness of fellow Irish band, U2.

The Chieftains are never afraid to shock purists and push genre boundaries and the trappings of fame have not altered The Chieftains' love of, and loyalty to, their roots however- they are as comfortable playing spontaneous Irish sessions as they are headlining a concert at Carnegie Hall. After fifty years of making some of the most beautiful music in the world, The Chieftains' music remains as fresh and relevant as when they first began.
